Old Dominion Shootout Pre-Race Press Release #1

Left Turn Promotions Steams towards Memorial Day Race Date at Franklin County Speedway
Roanoke,VA—Left Turn Promotions is working hard at making the 2nd Annual Old Dominion Shootout at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, VA a can’t miss event for regional race fans.
In its second year of existence, the race will be staged on Memorial Day Monday in 2010. “We figured we would give families an alternative to the usual holiday cookout.” explained Left Turn Promotions Co-Owner Kenny Lang. “Hopefully fans, drivers and teams will support our first full blown attempt at promoting a race.”
Left Turn Promotions is leasing the speedway for the day from FCS Enterprises, Inc. “We are thrilled with the opportunity Whitey Taylor has given us to give this a shot.” Said Lang.
The race day will be composed of four divisions racing that day. The Late Model Stock Cars will be the feature event of the day. Drivers such as Jimmy Mullins, Rodney Cook, Mike Looney, Doug Williams, Michael McGuire, Eddie Young, Brad Kurth, Bobby Griffin, Buster Carroll, Daryn Cockram, Roger Parrish, Jr., Kevin Smith and others have voiced their intentions of running the 125-lap, $2,000 to win race. Kelly Kingery, defending Old Dominion Shootout winner Darrell Wallace, Jr. and others are possibilities to compete.
The Mod4/Mini Stock division will run a 45-lap race paying $500 to win. The UCAR division will race 30 laps and will vie for a $200 to win prize. Rounding out the day will be the East Coast Flathead Ford Association cars going 20-laps.
The LMSC, Mod4/Mini Stock and UCAR division will conform to the Motor Mile Speedway 2010 rulebook.
General admission for the Old Dominion Shootout will be $10 for adults with children 12 and under admitted for free. Grandstand gates will open and Practice will begin at 10:30am with qualifying slated to begin at 2:15pm. An on track autograph session will begin at 3:15pm with the first race taking the green flag at 4:00pm.
